PC Club Components
Ah, time for my bi-annual or something update on the site. Just wondering if the PC Club bought components are still working for you?
For me a refurbished 150GB Western Digital Raptor hard drive bit the dust. It went from working fine, to terrible noises, and finally no access. I was able to get enough access to recover data, but it went completely dead not long after that. My old 40GB Raptor is still working. It goes to show that for some components, don’t buy refurbished.
My old trusty Linksys Wireless G router gone to cyber heaven. Can’t blame it as I had flashed the ROM to make it a wireless bridge after I upgraded to a Wireless N router (also Linksys). I had it working for 24/7 for over 4 years. Recently, it worked fine and then soon afterwards, I can’t ping it anymore. Bye-bye… you have served me well.
I am still using a 17″ RealSync LCD monitor (full-screen not letter box). It has dual inputs which is great. My main system is a PC built with all PC Club parts. My media center PC contains all PC Club components.
What do you still have that was purchased at PC Club?

All my copmuters are still working with parts used from PCClub; An Intel Quad Core 6600, 4 GB of Ram, 2 350 GB WD Hard Drives, X-fi Soundblaster, My trusty Logitech G15 Keyboard as 2 broken keys, but other than that still works, another pc with an ADM 64 cpu, 2 Gb of ram, nvidia 8800GTS, Hard drives. Another one with an Intel 3.4 Ghz 1gb Ram, and HD. All from PC CLub and still working. so far the only things i’ve lost is a Linksys wireless router and 2 power supplies. not bad for 5 plus years with the same components.

There is also a PC Club fan page on Facebook. You can post the pictures over there if you like. There are quite a few of those pictures now.

Worked at PC Club in WA and NV. Still rocking a 19″ REALsync CRT. Yes, CRT. I’m sure I’ve got other parts from PC Club floating around but haven’t been keeping track.
